How does an Ariel get even more stripped down? Removing two wheels is a good place to start.
The long rumored motorcycle from Ariel has arrived. It’s called the Ace and will be built alongside everyone’s favorite track day car, the Atom, at Ariel’s factory in Somerset, England.
It shares a few obvious design queues with its four-wheeled sibling. The aluminum frame echoes the Atom’s exoskeleton chassis, while the fuel tank resembles the Atom’s minimalist body panels. Ariel is continuing is close relationship with Honda with the Ace. It’s powered by a 1237cc Honda V4 motorcycle engine, which produces 173 bhp at 10,000 rpm. The sprint to 60 mph comes in 3.4 seconds and top speed is 165 mph. Ariel says the Ace will be highly customizable. The two bikes shown in the photos represent two possibilities, but Ariel says there will be a nearly limitless amount of configurations.
The Ace will make its official debut at the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed, but the order books are open now. Pricing starts at £20,000, and production will be limited to between 100 and 150 units per year.
