Kavinsky Protovision

French electro-pop act Kavinsky's music was featured in the 2011 hit movie Drive. Now the video accompanying Kavinsky's latest release, Protovision, is clearly inspired by the cinematography from the movie. Featuring a car chase between an assumed anti-hero in a Ferrari Testarossa being chased through downtown LA by a policeman in a Ford Mustang II, it's an enjoyable watch with some impressive sideways action from the notoriously tricky-handling Ferrari. I do expect that many car geeks will point out that even the most potent Mustang II's put out a wheezing 150bhp and would have little chance of keeping up with the 390bhp 180mph Testarossa, but this is the movies after all, so suspend your disbelief and just enjoy the ride.

AMC AMX driven on Big Muscle for Drive

Usually the videos from the Drive network we feature come from Chris Harris. For a change here is a video by Mike Musto from Drive's Big Muscle series, where Mike is driving one of the more unusual sixities American muscle cars the AMC AMX. What makes the AMX so unusual is that is it a two seater car and in some ways bridges the gap between muscle car and sportscar. The highly modified example in the video looks arguably more at home on back roads than it would on the quarter mile drag strip?

I would recommend watching the video with the 1080p option if your internet connection is fast enough.

Chris Harris tests the Pagani Huayra

Despite less than 300 being produced in a twelve year production run the Zonda has become an automotive icon and put fledgling manufacturer Pagani Automobili on the map. It was always going to to be difficult to follow up and its replacement the Huayra with an almost unpronouncable name, controversial looks (I for one prefer the new shape to the Zonda's) and a twin turbo engine that looses the Zonda's incredible noise, seems to have its work cut out.  The most important thing however is the way it drives, and who better to tell us that than Drive's Chris Harris.

Chris Harris tests the Lotus Exige S

It seems to have been an endless stream of promises rather than real product coming out of Lotus' HQ in Hethel over the last couple of years. Finally they are able to show something tangible in the Form of the new Lotus Exige S. Despite the familiar name the new car is a very different car from the last Exige as it marries the supercharged Toyota V6 from the Evora with a stretched version of the Elise/Exige chassis. Is this new car a masterpiece or a lashed up parts bin special. Over to Mr Harris and his latest video for the Drive channel to find out..

Chris Harris takes the Ariel Atom V8 and Noble M600 for a spin at the Nürburgring

Drive's Chris Harris recently had the opportunity to take an Ariel Atom V8 and a Noble M600 to a Destination Nürburgring track day. Armed with what looks to be about a baker’s dozen of GoPro video cameras, we get some great footage of the ‘Ring in N24 configuration which includes the Nordschleife and the Grand Prix circuit. As he points out, neither car is particularly suited for an all-out time attack of the Nürburgring (timing is strictly prohibited at DN events anyway), but they still look like a blast, if not a little scary.
