Geneva Motor Show: Pininfarina Alfa Romeo 2uettottanta

News

Summary text here

One gets the impression that Alfa Romeo might be getting kind of tired of Pininfarina designing all these gorgeous Alfa Romeo concept cars. It seems like every two years or so this happens and then people start to scream at Alfa and threaten to raise Turin to the ground if it's not put into production. Of course when they finally do put into production, it's some grossly disproportionate facsimile of the original concept (ahem-Brera-ahem) and nobody buys it.

Hopefully this won't be the case with Pininfarina's extraordinarily hard to pronounce, yet utterly gorgeous Alfa Romeo 2uettottanta. It's a clear homage to the 1968 1750 Veloce and other subsequent Alfa Romeo Spyders. Not coincidentally it's powered by turbocharged 1750 cc four cylinder. If it goes into production, expect to slot in somewhere between the BMW Z4 and the Mazda Miata/MX5 in the small roadster echelon.
