A very different Italian car spotted at a Ferrari meet.
If you have read my report on taking the Daytona to the Ferrari meet at the Mulberry restaurant, you may recall I referred to another car that I would feature in Spotted in the Wild. Well, here it is: a Fiat 500 Topolino.
Officially known as the 500 but commonly referred to as the Topolino (or little mouse), this was the mainstay of the Italian giant's car production from 1936 to 1955.
Packing a huge 13 bhp, the Topolino could manage a 0-60 mph time of ... well, never, since it has a top speed of 52 mph. Probably not the best car for a continental dash, then.
The owner of this particular example decided that clearly there was some scope for boosting the performance and has fitted a 'wind-up key' on the rear spare wheel mount in a style reminiscent of many a classic toy car. It's a great addition that provided much amusement amongst the assembled throng of Ferrari owners. it may not surprise you to hear that the Fiat was amongst the last cars to arrive!
Drive Cult has been live for barely a month in its current form, but I think this is likely to be a top contender for the slowest car we ever feature. That doesn't mean it isn't cool, though.
