Jalopnik's Sam Smith has put together one of the best pieces I've read in a while about how a guy from Chicago named Bill Caswell built up an FIA legal rally car out of a $500 BMW E30 he found on Craigslist. He entered it in Rally Mexico a few weeks back and after many trials and tribulations ended up on the class podium, beating out several $400,000 purpose built Imprezas and Evos. Much respect.
