Photos from the Goodwood Revival 2012.
The Goodwood Revival always serves up some star attractions, but this year was truly exceptional. A parade of Ferrari 250GTOs would be the main event in any other year, but this time it was comprehensively outdone by a parade of both Mercedes-Benz and Auto Union Silver Arrows Grand Prix cars. It was the first time that these incredible machines from the two rival manufacturers had been exhibited side by side since they they last competed in anger back in 1939. The drivers piloting these machines were as legendary as the cars, with Jackie Stewart and Jacky Ickx being amongst the driver roster. Stewart even managed to have a wild ride across the grass in a Mercedes W165.
The gallery contains pictures of both the GTOs and the Silver Arrows, along with some of Goodwood's other attractions. I also shot a brief video of one of the Auto Unions being prepared by its mechanics, which can be seen here.
