Lotus unveils 2010 F1 contender

News

For the first time in 16 years, Lotus will back be in F1. Their new car, the T127, was unveiled today at a ceremony at London's Royal Horticultural Hall. The new car sports the traditional Lotus British racing green and yellow livery. It was designed under the guidance of F1 technical ace Mike Gascoyne and will be powered by the now ubiquitous Cosworth engine.

The two entries will be piloted by veterans Heikki Kovalainen and Jarno Trulli, who should bring a wealth of expertise and knowledge to the team. If anything Lotus has experience on their side, meaning they should be pretty quick, at least among the gaggle of new teams.

Financial backing comes courtesy of Malaysian car maker and Lotus parent company Proton. The team has completed shake down runs at Silverstone and plan to continue testing at Jerez. Now we're only waiting on Campos and USF1 the unveil their cars, who better hurry the hell up.
