RM Auctions will hold their first auction in Monaco on the 1st of May to coincide with the Historic Grand Prix the same weekend. The catalogue is extensive with a large collection of Rolls Royces and several significant Ferraris including a 400SA Cabriolet SWB, a LWB 250 California (currently owned by Chris Evans) and a 250SWB.
Not amongst the feature lots a Ferrari Daytona built to Group IV racing specifications caught my eye (can't think why). Not one of the 15 original Competitzione cars the catalogue indicates this was coverted in period to competition specifications and has some competition history. More recently the car has competed in the now sadly defunct Shell Ferrari Historic Challenge.
The catalogue estimates a price of between €420,000 and €480,000 and while current exchange rate fluctuations mean that where you live will have a baring in whether you think this is good value, it is safe to assume that this is considerably less than you would pay for an equivalent factory car, and would be huge fun at a non noise restricted track day.
